A new member, Masahiko, has joined our department.
A new member, Masahiko (Honda), has joined our department as Assistant Prof. His research will focus on aging, metabolism, and muscle differentiation and physiology.

Dr. Masahiko Honda, Staff Scientist at Department of Bioscience and Genetics, National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Center Research Instutute, presented his work on one of the Vestigial-like factors, Vgll2, in slow muscle fiber specification and maintenance in vivo.

Candidates are expected to set up a research line with clear connections to the ongoing research in the department, which include cancer biology, epigenetics, metabolism, and aging. A potential link to translational research is greatly appreciated. Candidates are expected to attract external fundings and attain a leading international position in the field, and contribute to the existing courses depending on your expertise.
Conditions of employment
Full-time. The contract will be renewed every year based on the established criteria (five years are maximum). Monthly starting salary will be based on the university regulation, which reflects your qualifications and work experience.
Desired skills and experience
• Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and minimal three-year postdoctoral experience.
• Outstanding research qualities as evidenced by publication records, conference presentations, and other research activities.
• Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
• An excellent team player with great communication skills.
